Dream of a society with true freedom in all aspects of life, political, economic, physical, mental and spiritual, where rights come along with responsibilities and the binding agent is mutual trust and equal respect for all.

One of the greatest lessons time has taught to mankind is to pay as much attention to the means of work as to its end. When cause is there, there is no difficulty about the effect. The effect is bound to come. Let us perfect the means; the end will take care of itself.

Innumerable discussions and suggestions regarding the most important practical aspect of human life that leads to the all encompassing goal of having a truly free society, reflecting the principles of "Live and Let Live" and "Equal Opportunities To All" led us to FINITE.

In the beginning, we were four, located in the northeastern state of Pennsylvania in USA, separated by a distance of about 300 miles. The first discussion was held on the issue if we needed one more organization in this vast sea of organizations and institutions. The answer came in the form of the goal we had in our minds.

We concurred with the definition of achievement for FINITE, which was very simple and unassuming. Can we change the life of at least one child belonging to the underprivileged section of the society? Can we make at least one student belonging to a poor family stand on his/her own feet? Above all, can we infuse, at least in one child, the thoughts and ideals of an "educated" person, one who believes in mutual growth, who can think about others, feel their pain, be one with them. The reply came in the form of affirmative action strongly backed by solid conviction. The very finiteness of our aim propelled us to be united for a focussed approach to providing means and creating conducive atmosphere for the true education of children belonging to the deprived sections of society.

With this very thought and conviction, FINITE was born.
